Fresh Strawberry Mint Martini. It’s strawberry season in my area. There’s nothing better than biting into a crisp sweet fresh strawberry. Of course, you can usually get mass-farmed strawberries all year round in most supermarkets — I think they are sometimes tasteless though. I prefer to buy fresh local berries when they’re at their sweetest. If you can’t find fresh strawberries, you can always use thawed frozen strawberries.
My husband concocted this gorgeous martini for me a few years ago. It’s become a huge favorite in the warmer weather and of course in strawberry season. Stolichnaya’s Strasberi Vodka adds an extra strawberry punch. A sprig of fresh mint from the garden is a welcome garnish.
Just chop some fresh strawberries and fresh mint leaves. Muddle them with some superfine sugar in a cocktail shaker. Add some ice cubes and vodka and shake.
Pour into a martini glass and garnish with a whole strawberry and a sprig of mint. I like a pulpy result but you can strain the mixture for a clearer martini.
Sweeten your Happy Hour with my Fresh Strawberry Mint Martini. Offer with a bar appetizer such as my Rich Smoked Salmon Dip on crackers, Fig Almond Cheese Nibbles, or Cinnamon Pecans.
Enjoy!
