Autumn Cherry Pie Cocktail

Autumn is upon us, and just in time for the season, my husband has created another of my favorite cocktails. My husband’s Autumn Cherry Pie Cocktail tastes just like a cherry pie!

With a bit of simple syrup infused with cinnamon, my husband combines gin, Grand Marnier’s cherry liqueur, pear juice, and lemon juice to create his Autumn Cherry Pie Cocktail! Shake it up, and garnish with a cherry!

Part of our renewed interest in finding cocktails to enjoy at home culminated earlier this year when we “remodeled” our old rarely used 1970s-era bar in our basement. Our 1970s Bar Remake project was a month-long effort, selecting coordinating paint colors, cutting the bar down to the correct height, and refinishing the old brown Formica top with countertop paint. We were able to repurpose some leftover “tin” panels for the walls from a previous kitchen project.

Here’s the “before” view in its 1970s glory:

Note the unique wall shelves with the cool LED lighting from Customized Designs, a mom-and-pop company located in Colorado. Customized Designs creates and fabricates their own specialized designs including LED tables and other unique items. Check them out at their website. And Customized Designs has outstanding customer service, too!

So now that you’ve seen our 1970s Bar Remake, you can understand why we’re more than excited to spend time sitting at our new bar sipping beverages. We wonder almost daily why we didn’t start and complete this project years ago.

My husband uses Grand Marnier’s recently introduced cherry liqueur. You can use another brand such as Heering cherry liqueur if you can’t find the Grand Marnier cherry liqueur.

Mix one up for yourself soon. You’ll love it!
